Easy Oven Baked Tofu

Think you’re not a fan of tofu? This Easy Oven Baked Tofu recipe is here to change your mind. It’s delicious, and addictive, and you’ll find yourself eating it like potato chips!

When I first made this recipe, my son, a teenager then, wasn’t a fan of tofu. The day I posted this recipe, he almost devoured the entire batch before I could take pictures or bake it!

As I was preparing the marinated tofu cubes for the oven, he asked, “What’s that?” Before I could answer, he had already eaten a piece and quickly went for more. He exclaimed, “Wow, it’s really good!” and walked away.

To my surprise, he returned 40 minutes later, after the tofu was baked, to grab more pieces and praised the baked tofu again. I was shocked! This baked tofu is seriously delicious!

Recipe Ingredients:
1- 16oz package extra firm tofu, pressed and patted dry
3 tbsp tamari sauce
2 tbsp pure maple syrup
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp sriracha
Chopped cilantro and sesame seeds to garnish, optional

Step 1: Remove the tofu from its packaging, drain, press for about 1 hour to release excess liquid, and pat dry with a clean towel.

Step 2: Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3: Cut the tofu into 1/2-inch cubes. Mix tamari, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sriracha; stir to mix.

Step 4: Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and gently stir until all the cubes are evenly coated. Marinate for at least 5 minutes (or up to overnight).

Step 5: Arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cube for air circulation. Keep the leftover marinade as it makes an excellent dipping sauce!

Step 6: Bake the tofu in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, flipping the cubes halfway through, until golden brown.

Step 7: Let the baked tofu cool for about 5 minutes in the pan. Serve with the leftover marinade as a dipping sauce, garnished with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.
